Obituary

Jackie Perkins passed away on July 26. 2026. Jackie would have been 99 years young on September 23rd. She was born and raised in Buffalo, Texas. She had 7 siblings. She married Ray Perkins and was a great mother to Van, Greg, and Priscilla. She was the home room mother back in the day, the cub scout leader, the cheerleading coach, just an all-around great mom. When Ray retired, Jackie did what a lot of spouses do in this situation…she went to work. She worked for Dillard’s in their bridal registry department and then she started her real estate career. Once she retired, she became an even more avid golfer which she loved. Jackie and Ray moved in with Priscilla in Tomball 19 years ago where she enjoyed Priscilla’s garden and all of her pets and enjoying days outside soaking up sunshine. Ray and Jackie were married for 63 years. We would like to thank Priscilla for her years of caring for Jackie. They were the best of friends and true partners in crime. We are forever grateful for the love and kindness she showed to Jackie. We would also like to thank Chris Thomas. Chris has been Jackie’s caregiver and true friend for many years. To say Chris was Jackie’s care giver doesn’t even start to explain who Chris is. Chris is a walking angel on earth and a true saint. I don’t know what Priscilla and Jackie would have done without Chris. She is forever a part of our family and we love her and can never thank her enough for everything she did for Jackie and Priscilla. We would also like to thank Paul, Anne, PJ, and Sammy for always including Jackie in their lives and all of the kindness they have shown to all of us. It is wonderful to call you family and you are family in every sense of the word. Thank you. So, here’s to Jackie. A child of God, a daughter, a sister, a daughter-in-law, a sister-in-law, an aunt, a cousin, a classmate, a friend, a neighbor, a wife, a mother, a mother-in-law, an employee, a hostess, a golfer, a nature lover, a Hallmark TV watcher, a Bingo player, a social butterfly and now an angle in heaven. Jackie will be missed but we know she is in peace now and we couldn’t ask for anything more. A service for Jackie will be held on Friday, July 31st at Cozart Funeral Home 220 Heath St., Normangee, Texas, 77871. A light lunch will be served after the service in the reception area at the funeral home. The burial will be at the Hope Well Cemetery in Normangee, Texas. In lieu of flowers, if you would like, you can make a donation to the Houston SPCA at 7007 Old Katy Road, Houston, Texas 77024 or at https://houstonspca.org/
