Marilyn Walker Cooper passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, after a courageous 15-year battle with cancer. She was surrounded by the love of her family at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Zula Sheppard, and her sister, Linda Sanders.
She is survived by her loving husband, Dale Clement; her daughters, Michelle Tewold & husband Mike, and Stephanie Ray & husband Eric; and her four beloved grandsons, Thomas Ray, Xander Tewold, Jacob Ray, and Hendrix Tewold. She is also survived by her dearly loved brother-in-law, Billy Sanders, and her nephews and their families: Jason & Sarah Sanders, Wesley & Theresa Sanders, and Allen & Jamie Sanders.
Marilyn spent many years serving the community of Hilltop Lakes as the Postmaster. She was known for her kindness, dedication, and the friendships she built with so many residents over the years. She was deeply loved by those who knew her.
Family meant everything to Marilyn. She cherished time spent with her daughters and grandsons and created countless memories traveling with her cousins, something that brought her great joy throughout her life.
Marilyn will be remembered for her strength, warmth, and the love she shared so freely with family and friends. Her legacy of resilience, kindness, and devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
In memory of Marilyn, a graveside service will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, 1:00 pm at Hopewell Cemetery in Normangee, Texas.
